AGI Technology had a busy COMPUTEX this year. The Taiwan-based memory and storage brand has shown that it’s serious about growing in multiple directions at once: enterprise infrastructure, enthusiast gaming, and consumer pop culture crossovers.
Going Enterprise with DDR5 RDIMM
The biggest strategic pivot on display was AGI’s entry into the server memory market. The company introduced its DDR5 RDIMM server memory series, available in 32 GB and 64 GB capacities with speeds of 5600 MT/s and 6400 MT/s, with AGI stating the modules utilize screened original ICs to ensure stability and signal integrity during continuous high-workload operations.
On the industrial side, AGI’s Smart Life series targets edge computing scenarios where reliability matters above all else, with emphasis on zero-frame-loss performance for applications involving continuous video capture or real-time data processing.
Thermochromic Trick
One of the more eye-catching non-collab pieces was AGI’s patented thermochromic heat-dissipation design. Temperature-reactive pigments shift color as the component heats up, letting a user read roughly how hot a module is running at a glance without pulling up sensor data in a tool like HWiNFO.
The effect was demonstrated on memory, where it makes the most practical sense. It was also shown on an SSD, though that application is more for show given that drives usually sit hidden under a motherboard’s heatsinks. Functional gimmick or not, it’s the kind of thing that gets people to stop and look at a booth.
Dandadan Crossover
The loudest part of the exhibit was the officially licensed collaboration with the hit anime and manga series DAN DA DAN, developed in partnership with StorArt. Rather than slap on sticker overlays, AGI prints the character art directly into the physical heat spreaders and shells of its consumer products, making the theme part of the hardware.
The collaboration spans a wide spread of the catalog: UD858 DDR5 desktop memory, AI828 PCIe Gen4 and Gen5 M.2 SSDs, microSD Supreme Pro TF138 cards, USB thumb drives, and the ED158 portable external SSD.
The standout of the bunch is the ED268 Rugged External SSD. Wrapped in a bold red housing featuring Turbo Granny, the ED268 packs a USB 3.2 Gen2 x2 20Gbps interface, up to 2000 MB/s read and write speeds, internal shock dampening, 2-meter drop certification, and an IP-rated seal for dust and water resistance. It’s a genuinely solid spec sheet for a rugged external drive, with the anime wrap being the cherry on top.
Good News for Philippine Buyers
Unlike most anime hardware crossovers that stay region-locked to Japan, AGI is selling the Dandadan line in Taiwan, Vietnam, and the Philippines, making it one of the rare anime-collab hardware runs that will actually reach local shelves. No pricing or Philippine release date has been confirmed yet, but the regional inclusion is notable on its own.
AGI’s COMPUTEX 2026 showing suggests a brand trying to cover multiple bases at once; rack-scale infrastructure credibility on one end, pop culture-driven consumer appeal on the other. Whether either play sticks will depend on pricing and distribution when these products actually hit shelves.
