AMD has officially unveiled the latest version of its software suite, AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition 24.9.1, bringing a host of significant updates aimed at boosting the gaming experience for Radeon users.
Central to this release is the introduction of AMD Fluid Motion Frames (AFMF) 2, an enhanced frame generation technology designed to enhance gameplay performance.
AMD Fluid Motion Frames (AFMF) 2 represents a leap forward in frame generation, allowing Radeon gamers to experience smoother, more immersive gameplay. This technology is integrated into AMD HYPR-RX, a one-click solution that automatically optimizes both in-driver and in-game settings to maximize performance.
Key Features of AFMF 2:
- AI-Driven Frame Generation: AFMF 2 uses AI enhancements to generate frames more efficiently, providing smoother gaming experiences, especially in fast-paced scenarios.
- Broad Compatibility: AFMF 2 is supported across thousands of games and is compatible with AMD Radeon RX 6000 and 7000 series graphics cards, as well as AMD Ryzen processors with RDNA 3 architecture-based Radeon integrated graphics. Additionally, it is now available on laptops featuring Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 processors with integrated Radeon graphics.
- Expanded Game Support: AFMF 2 now supports both Vulkan and OpenGL titles, extending its capabilities to a wider array of games.
- Radeon Chill Interoperability: When paired with Radeon Chill, AFMF 2 can provide low-latency frame capping to prevent screen tearing, particularly for displays with high refresh rates.
Beyond AFMF 2, the latest Adrenalin Edition introduces HYPR-Tune support for popular games like Black Myth: Wukong, Creatures of Ava, Frostpunk 2, and God of War Ragnarök, enabling AMD FSR 3 and Radeon Anti-Lag 2 for an optimized gaming experience. A full list of HYPR-Tuned games is available on AMD’s official site.
Another notable update is the introduction of Geometric Downscaling, which improves video playback quality by minimizing visual artifacts in downscaled windows, ensuring smoother visuals during content consumption.
