Prep yourself for the GearBest Anniversary of 2019
The GearBest anniversary of 2019 is fast approaching and there’s no better way to celebrate by browsing the site prior to the event. Yup, there are a lot of good deals to check out even before the anniversary starts. That said, allow us to show you a few on this small guide.
Note that the prices you’ll see here are definitely not final, as fluctuations do occur naturally. That’s especially true with GearBest’s way of promoting their products via flash sales and the likes.
Processor: AMD Athlon X3 440 | $12.99 USD
The AMD Athlon X3 440 is a budget oriented socket AM3 based 3-core / 3-thread CPU running at 3.0 GHz. This is an old chip requiring an AM3 motherboard to work.
Literally dirt cheap, the AMD Athlon X3 440 at GearBest is the best CPU deal you’ll find at the site as of date. If you have or could score an AM3 motherboard for cheap, then this one is a steal.
Motherboard: Colorful C.Q1900M V20 | $89.99 USD
The Colorful C.Q1900M V20 is an entry level SoC motherboard with the Intel Celeron J1900 inside. The motherboard also comes with a single DDR3 slot, a PCI-E slot and an onboard Intel HD4000 graphics slapped on an ITX form factor.
While it’s not cheap nor expensive, the Colorful C.Q1900M V20 is a good option especially if you are looking for a capable yet low power setup. Sure it may not be able to smoothly play the hottest games even with a graphics card attached but its fanless design and set of basic features are enough for a home theater setup.
Cooler: GD460 Thermal Paste 20G | $1.63 USD
Now if you’re the kind of guy like me messing up with coolers in general, the GD460 Thermal Paste is for you. It’s a simple silicone based thermal interface material with 2 years of lifespan under a 20 gram package.
Nothing really special about it with the exception of the price. Similar products sold locally actually retails for around $10. Basically a giveaway.
Memory: YRUIS DDR3 2G 1333 PC3 | $8.99 USD
The YRUIS DDR3 2G 1333 PC3 is yet another basic component on the list. It is a DDR3 SO-DIMM featuring a memory frequency of 1333MHz operating at a 1.5v package.
This is a good deal if you are looking to upgrade an old notebook’s memory capacity. 2GB is not much, but that extra oomph might be the difference between a responsive and a sluggish PC.
Graphics: EXP GDC Beast External Video Card Dock | $55.81 USD
Our pick here is actually not a graphics card since we couldn’t actually find a suitable deal to spend two to three digits. That said, our choice is still a good one in the form of a graphics adapter.
The EXP GDC Beast here is the Mini PCI-E model. This is useful if you want to use an external graphics for let’s say gaming provided that your notebook had the slot for it. Make sure to get a reliable PSU too if you intend to buy this device.
Storage: CY SA 005 M key M.2 NGFF SSD to PCIe X4 Adapter | $5.99 USD
CY SA 005 M key M.2 adapter is a life saver if you don’t have a free M.2 slot to work with. This adapter basically turns your free PCI-E slot into a free M.2 slot with support for 2230, 2242, 2260 and 2280 form factors.
The device requires an Intel Z97 chipset based motherboard or later to work. Windows 10 is also another requirement so take that in mind.
Power: Newer 48V Phantom Power Supply | $25.99 USD
For streamers out there, the Newer 48V Phantom Power Supply is an excellent deal. This is a budget yet capable solution to power up your XLR device.
The Newer 48V power supply comes with an XLR cable and a 3.5mm audio cable to get you started.
Case: Segotep K8 Acrylic ATX Gaming Case | $55.49 USD
The Segotep K8 is a budget oriented mid-tower case featuring an acrylic front and side panel. This is a modern looking case with of course, modern features in tow.
The Segotep K8 is one of those budget oriented yet premium looking chassis around $50 USD. The only issue here is the shipping cost so if you could snag it at a relatively low shipping price, it is a good deal.
