GIGABYTE AOURUS at Computex 2024 teases its upcoming Intel Arrow Lake motherboards, featuring the new LGA 1851 socket. These motherboards are slated to launch with the 15th generation Intel processors by Q4 2024.
Similar to GIGABYTE’s AMD X870 motherboards, the teased Intel Z series models includes features like the UC BIOS, WIFI EZ-Plug, M.2 EZ-Match, and PCIe EZ Latch Plus. That’s on top of the platform’s offered 20 PCIe 5.0 lanes (x16 for PCIe slot and x4 for M.2 slot) and an additional x4 PCIe 4.0 lanes for storage.
GIGABYTE’s next-gen Intel motherboards are also set to revolutionize the market with Thunderbolt 4 and USB4 support, offering unmatched performance, efficiency, and connectivity with compatible devices. These features redefine standards for data transfer and power delivery.
Now Wi-Fi 7 compatibility and multi-speed Ethernet ports (10G/5G/2.5G) ensures top-tier wireless and wired connections for the flagship models. Not all Intel Arrow Lake motherboards will support Wi-Fi 7 and 10G out of the box so keep that in mind.

AORUS Tachyon ICE
The Tachyon ICE motherboard presents a unique design with its horizontally mounted DIMM slots. This configuration allows GIGABYTE to place two PCIe 5.0 M.2 SSDs in the traditional memory slot area. Consequently, the usual location for the SSDs has been shifted to the VRM area. Basically, imagine the upper section of the motherboard rotated counterclockwise.
GIGABYTE positions the AORUS Tachyon ICE as an overclocking motherboard, with proper buttons and switches for tuning.
AORUS Aero G
The Z890 Aero G is a more conventional motherboard design, offering four DDR5 DIMM slots and 3 full size PCIe slots. The IO cover appears to be frosted which may include an RGB lighting feature. The Aero G comes with onboard buttons – most likely for the power, reset, and CMOS.
AORUS Master
The AORUS Master is an ATX motherboard with similar feature set to the Aero G. I find its two lower PCIe slots a concern for expansion cards – however, in turn, GIGABYTE managed to use a single slab of aluminum for its passive M.2 cooler.
AORUS Ultra Mini-ITX
GIGABYTE’s AORUS Ultra is a Mini-ITX offering for the 15th generation Intel processors. It comes with Thunderbolt 4, an 8+1+2 phase power design and 2.5G LAN + Wi-Fi 7. Since the unnamed Z chipset (Z890?) supports bifurcation, this motherboard could accept at least two more expansion cards with a proper bifurcation card or riser.
These motherboards supports GIGABYTE GCC and Corsair iCUE. As usual, no information about their price and date of availability has been divulged yet.
