This recognition comes from TrendForce, which reports Kingston accounted for an impressive 34% of all channel SSD shipments in 2023.
Holding a significant lead over competitors, Kingston’s dominance is attributed to its extensive global sales network, top-notch SSD portfolio, and superior customer service. The company expanded its market share from 2022, solidifying its position in the SSD sector, where the second-largest supplier holds just an 11% share.
In 2023, the retail SSD market grew by 3.7%, with branded SSD shipments reaching 118 million units. This growth is driven by rising demand for larger storage capacities, particularly among high-performance users and gamers who increasingly opt for SSDs over 2 TB. Additionally, many PCs purchased during the pandemic are now due for replacement, further fueling SSD upgrades.
Kingston expanded its SSD offerings this year with new products aimed at both data centers and external storage users. Notably, the launch of the DC600M Enterprise SSD introduced a robust option for mixed-use workloads, ensuring high Quality of Service (QoS) with stable latency and IOPS. Additionally, the new XS1000 External SSD joined the highly acclaimed XS2000, both lightweight, portable options that weigh under 29 grams. These additions enriched Kingston’s product lineup, contributing to record-breaking sales and reinforcing its leadership in the SSD market.
