Hideo Kojima has set the hype bar a notch higher once again with the unveiling of the Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain trailer at Game Developer Conference a couple of days ago.

If you’re keeping a keen eye on the MGS franchise, then you might notice that The Phantom Pain teaser, which Konami teased us last year, is actually an integral part of the Metal Gear Solid Saga, and is the epilogue to the Ground Zeroes which has been claimed as the official Metal Gear Solid V game by critics, a few months back. There are still lotsa lotsa questions needed to be answered like the flaming unicorn, whale, and other funky burning things, but Kojima himself confirmed that the Ground Zeroes, and The Phantom Pain are separate games, but both branded under the Metal Gear Solid V. Made me think that the GZ will be released for the current generation consoles, and the later TPP game is for the next generation of consoles who could take full advantage of the Fox Engine.
