Noctua and Prusa Launches PETG Filaments

Adds two new PETG variants that offer more durability than the existing PLA options.

Noctua and Prusa Research have added two new filaments to their ongoing collaboration. Prusament PETG Noctua Beige and Prusament PETG Noctua Brown are now available, joining the PLA versions the two companies released earlier this year.

More durability for demanding builds

Noctua and Prusa Research already sell PLA filaments in the same color scheme, and those remain the easier option for casual printing since PLA is generally simpler to work with. PETG, on the other hand, trades some of that convenience for added toughness and better resistance to heat. Noctua says the new PETG filaments can handle environments above 50 °C, making them a better fit for parts that need to hold up under structural stress, such as custom PC cases, electronic enclosures, or air ducts.

Roland Mossig, CEO of Noctua, said the company has seen a lot of interesting projects made with the PLA filaments already, and expects the tougher PETG materials to open up even more possibilities for users.

Same color matching, different material

Like the PLA filaments before them, the new PETG spools were tuned to match Noctua’s signature beige and brown color scheme, so builders can color match their prints with actual Noctua fans without guesswork. Prusa Research manufactures the filaments in-house in Prague, Czech Republic, with tight tolerance control of ±0.02 mm for consistent quality and accurate color across spools.
