nubia has introduced two new additions to its Neo 5 Series in the Philippines: the Neo 5 Max PadPhone and the Neo 5 GT Special Edition. Both phones went official on July 31 as part of the brand’s #NEOVerseMaxOut campaign, running from August 1 to 8.
The two devices split gaming priorities differently. The Neo 5 Max leans on screen size and battery life for entertainment and multitasking, while the Neo 5 GT Special Edition is built around cooling and input latency for competitive play.
nubia Neo 5 Max PadPhone
The Neo 5 Max runs on a 7.5-inch display paired with a 7,100 mAh dual-cell battery. It’s powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7100, with symmetrical dual speakers tuned for Dolby Atmos, AI Copilot Demi 2.0, RGB Eagle Eye lighting, and IP64 dust and splash resistance. It ships in Titanium Gold at a launch price of PHP 19,999 (roughly USD 350 / EUR 310).
nubia Neo 5 GT Special Edition
The GT Special Edition centers on nubia’s AquaCore Cooling System, which combines active liquid cooling with a built-in fan. nubia positions it as the only Liquid & Air Dual Active Cooling setup in its class, though that claim comes from the company and hasn’t been independently verified.
Its Neo Triggers are rated at 550 Hz, with sub-5.5 ms hardware latency and a 3049 Hz instant touch sampling rate. The display is a 6.8-inch 1.5K panel at 144 Hz, AMOLED, with SGS Eye Care certification. Under the hood is a MediaTek D7400 with the NeoTurbo Engine and up to 24 GB of Dynamic RAM. Battery capacity sits at 6,210 mAh with 80 W flash charging, bypass charging support, and a 90-degree charging cable meant to keep the cable out of the way during gameplay.
Beyond the gaming-specific hardware, the GT Special Edition also gets AI Copilot Demi 2.0, a 50 MP AI dual rear camera setup, IP64 rating, and a five-year software update commitment. It comes in Glacial Silver, priced at PHP 26,999 (roughly USD 475 / EUR 420).
Launch promos
Buyers of either phone from August 1 to 8, while supplies last, get a free three-month VIU Premium subscription through a tie-up with VIU Philippines. nubia is also running a Buy 1, Get Up to 5 Freebies promo for the same period.
The company said more lifestyle tie-ins are coming to the NEOVERSE ecosystem, including a partnership with Cotti Coffee and a nubia Social Run event, though no dates have been announced for either.
