Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 Price Follows
The Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 reviews are out, and it’s looking quite strong for a mid-range graphics card. As a refresher, the GTX 1060 features 1280 CUDA Cores, almost half as that of the GTX 1080, with a modest 6GB of VRAM configured with a 192-bit bus width. TDP is around 120W, which is substantially lower than that of the RX 480 – its main rival at the mid-range bracket.
Similar to the recently released GTX 1000 series of cards, the GTX 1060 features a Founders Edition with an SRP of 299 USD, while the AIB partners has the discretion to release a 249 USD card or go all the way up to the Founders Edition’s pricing. The latter seems to be the case here in the Philippines, with cards from ZOTAC, and PALIT already making their rounds at our favorite retailers featuring a 300 USD and above SRP.

Of course, the price discrepancy has something to do with taxes, but it’s a much better proposal compared to what happened at AMD’s suposed to be 200 USD / 10, 000 Pesos champion. That said, the RX 480 which is marginally slower than the GeForce GTX 1060 based on reviews, features a relatively similar price point, dealing a blow at the red team – at least locally. To add more insult to the injury, that’s just the reference model’s pricing. I expect AMD will do something about this, especially once the non-reference models arrives.
Pricing, along with store availability will be updated once the majority of the GTX 1060 models has been launched locally. Stay classy.
