Pearl Abyss, in collaboration with players from its renowned titles Black Desert and Black Desert Mobile, has donated 100 million KRW (approximately 70,000 USD) to Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), also known as Doctors Without Borders.
Marking the sixth year of partnership between Pearl Abyss and MSF Korea, this donation was made possible through in-game events held at the end of last year. Each game contributed 50 million KRW, with players participating by completing special quests and purchasing donation items using in-game currency.
The funds will be used to provide urgent medical assistance in Nigeria, including home treatment kits for Noma patients, the establishment of cholera treatment centers, the supply of therapeutic food to combat malnutrition, and healthcare support in conflict zones.
Since 2019, Pearl Abyss has held annual donation events, allowing players to contribute to humanitarian efforts through gameplay. Each year, 100 million KRW has been donated to MSF, aiding medical relief efforts in regions impacted by armed conflicts, epidemics, natural disasters, and healthcare shortages.
“We are deeply grateful to all the Adventurers who have participated in this initiative for six consecutive years,” said Semi Kim, Head of People & Culture at Pearl Abyss.
Emma Campbell, Executive Director of MSF Korea, also expressed appreciation, stating, “Thanks to the generous support of Pearl Abyss and Black Desert Adventurers, MSF has been able to save lives in crisis-affected areas worldwide. With these contributions, we will continue our mission to provide medical aid in 2025 and beyond.”
