On this yet another mouse pad review, we are going to check out the Tt eSports Draconem RGB Touch Edition. An RGB gaming mousepad with a Touch ID feature at an affordable price of $50USD.
The Draconem RGB Touch is one of the many, many mouse pads at Tt eSports’ gaming arsenal. This is one of the more premium ones, kinda in-line with the Draconem Hatsune Miku Edition when it comes to the pricing but with a FIDO certified AES 256-bit encrypted touch feature.

Design, Layout and Build Quality
The Tt eSports Draconem RGB is a medium to large gaming mouse pad with a landscape layout. It is basically your normal Draconem with a fingerprint sensor functionally attached. Weight is about 420 grams which is light enough to stow around.
The rubber base covers approximately 90% of the device. It is relatively flat and stays in place even with the hardest of nudge.
Surface material is definitely hard plastic with a fine texture to aid tracking, similar to the SteelSeries QcK Hard. Thickness is about 4mm which is within reason for such a product with lighting attached.
The Tt eSports Draconem RGB Touch has two buttons at the control panel area for the RGB lighting. The center houses the FIDO certified touch ID sensor. A nice placement, I must say.
The cable is non braided which is a plus. It is easy to maneuver and is tangle proof.
Test Setup and Methodology
Testing a gaming mouse pad is not that difficult, but it is mostly subjective; similar to testing head gears in a sense. That said, no mouse pad is perfect and the verdict usually depends on personal preferences. With that in mind, we are overhauling our testing methodology by following key pointers that should matter the most; that includes the surface performance, the size and comfort. To keep our test methodology simple and free of extra variables, please note the following software and configurations used below.
Test Setup | |
Pointer Speed | 6/11, EPP Disabled |
Sensitivity | 800, 1600, 3200, If possible |
Polling Rate | 1000Hz, If possible |
Software | MouseTester V1.5.3 |
Physical Layout, Functionality and Ergonomics
Surface material is an important thing to consider when looking for a mouse pad. There are four basic types of surfaces here; metal, plastic, cloth and rubber. Metallic materials are preferred when speed and longevity matters over comfort and acoustics. Plastic on the other hand is the choice when speed, control and longevity are concerned. Cloth is the most prominent out of the bunch, offering speed, control and comfort. The emergence of synthetic rubber materials allows control, longevity and comfort over speed. There are also hybrids with multiple layered materials.
Your desk space and aiming style also influences what mouse pad you should buy. For an instance, wrist-aiming gamers would prefer smaller mouse pads while arm-aiming gamers will prefer larger mouse pads.
The Tt eSports Draconem RGB Touch Edition feature a length at roughly 355mm and a width at 255mm. Thickness on the other hand is about 4mm. This is a medium-large landscape only mouse pad which is decent enough for arm-aiming. Be aware of the control panel’s height though. I had no issue with this on wireless devices but you may find it kinda irritating with devices featuring thick or braided cables.
Surface material is hard plastic, most likely ABS with a smooth yet textured finish. This is a mouse pad built for speed which is again, similar to that of the SteelSeries Qck Hard. It is easy to clean and wont rub your mice’s gliding material to death.
Tracking Performance
Mouse pad tracking performance is evaluated with the MouseTester V1.5.3 with a DPI level of 800 DPI. Our aim is to check out the surface material’s performance; and to look for reporting inconsistencies.
The Tt eSports Draconem RGB Touch Edition featured an excellent tracking performance with our Zowie ZA13 gaming mouse. A performance comparable to the SteelSeries QcK Mini, Qck Hard and the recently tested ASUS Balteus Qi.
Software, Lighting and Special Features
TheTt eSports Draconem RGB Touch Edition comes with support for the wait for it… Draconem RGB software. It is highly recommended to download together with the driver and security center to make the most out of the mouse pad’s features. That’s 3 downloads in a row plus another one for a Chrome extension so I’m hoping Tt eSports could update it with support for their unifying Tt eSports Gaming 3.0 software.
Registering your finger print with the software is easy enough. You just have to follow four key steps for a hassle free finger print registration.
As for the Security Center, the styling is similar to the Draconem RGB software. You just have to make sure to install the Chrome extension to make the most out of it. With that in place, you may use the finger print scanner to login via websites.
Now as for lighting, I can’t complain much about what Tt eSports did with this mouse pad. Maybe the lighting around the dragon logo could be a little brighter but that’s about it.
Final Thoughts
The Tt eSports Draconem RGB Touch Edition made what appears to be a simple RGB mouse pad into something else better. This is a quality of life enhancing mouse pad, allowing you to easily login and out of your devices without compromising the security.
Performance is also excellent which is evident on our test results with the Zowie ZA13. One thing could be improved upon though is the lighting on the logo and the amount of softwares required to maximize the product.
The Tt eSports Draconem RGB Touch Edition Gaming Mouse Pad comes with a $50 USD price tag. Not expensive but definitely not cheap. A price just right for gamers who are looking for an extra peace of mind with a gaming performance to match.
