Pearl Abyss has announced a renewed collaboration for Black Desert, reuniting with one of the most iconic anime series of all time: “BERSERK.”
The latest crossover introduces a variety of themed content, including unique outfits, special quests, and a world boss inspired by the legendary anime.
Four Exclusive Outfits
From today until September 19, Adventurers can explore the Pearl Shop to purchase four exclusive new outfits. These include anime-inspired costumes available for all classes, as well as a special outfit, “Schierke’s Garb,” specifically designed for the Shai class.
Among the available gear is the renowned “Guts Berserker Armor,” the durable suit worn by Guts, the central character of BERSERK. This armor can be equipped by all male classes. Additionally, the Warrior class has access to a unique skin, the “Guts Dragon Slayer,” which serves as an exclusive look for his awakening weapon.
Female characters can choose from two versions of the “Griffith Armor,” while the Shai class alone can don the “Schierke’s Garb.” To enhance the immersive experience, an all-in-one package is available, which includes a “Crimson Behelit Alchemy Stone Appearance” that transforms Vell’s Heart into a BERSERK-themed item.
Special Quest
In addition to these cosmetics, a special quest has been added to the game, allowing players to dive into a storyline drawn directly from the BERSERK anime. The mission tasks Adventurers with facing off against the fearsome “Nosferatu Zodd,” one of the series’ most notorious villains. Zodd will also make appearances as a world boss three times a day, providing an epic challenge for players.
Completing the quest will reward players with several valuable items, including the “[Event] Behelit Alchemy Stone,” the “[Title] Everything is Within the Flows of Causality,” and an “Advice of Valks (+60).” The alchemy stone offers powerful bonuses, such as “All AP +8” and “All Accuracy +10,” among other perks.
What is BERSERK?
For those unfamiliar with “BERSERK,” it is a dark fantasy manga that began serialization in 1989 in “Monthly Animal House” (Hakusensha) and later transitioned to “Young Animal.” Renowned for its profound storytelling, unforgettable characters, and meticulous artwork, BERSERK has captivated audiences worldwide and has been translated into 20 languages. The series, which takes place in a world filled with swords, magic, and monsters, follows the brutal journey of its protagonist, Guts. To date, it has sold over 60 million copies globally in both print and digital formats.
The anime adaptation of BERSERK has been equally impactful. It first aired as a TV series from 1997 to 1998, followed by a trilogy of animated films from 2012 to 2013, and a second TV series from 2016 to 2017. Most recently, the “Golden Age” arc of the theatrical films was re-aired as a Memorial Edition TV series in 2022 to celebrate the 10th anniversary of its release.
