COD Goes Back In Time… Kinda
Call of Duty gets back to its roots, and goes forward again with the latest reveal trailer of the Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare. Basically, the game is generally set in space, and features a remastered version of the critically acclaimed Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. There will be 3 main versions, and the top end one with the remastered stuffs from COD’s golden era is billed at around 80 USD. Watch the trailer below for yourself.
WHAT’S NEW WITH INFINITE WARFARE?
Based on the 3 minute and a half long trailer, the latest Call of Duty title is set to take place on a future Earth and beyond – which is space bound. Basically, Earth has been invaded by a Settlement Defense Front or SDF from outer space. They are humans from the outer space colonies so rest assured you’re not fighting against aliens. Infinite Warfare will also let you pilot ships, and even command your own space battleships according to the studio.
Although there is indication of exoskeletons, we get to see mechas. Thing is, we are not sure yet if they are AIs, or organics melded with machines. One of the mechas seems to have a cockpit though – since it’s a huge one. Hope we could hope in inside.
Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare looks pretty similar to the older COD titles, and we might see an improved version of the IW Engine here since the studio tells us that the game will feature seamless level transitions. Most COD titles uses an improved version of the former IW Engine so it’s a good speculation. DirectX 12 support is however, unsure. Jetpacks or boosters will most likely return too.
Infinite Warfare will take the gamers on a space and planetary battle, so the devs really are gunning for that refreshed look as an offering to the gamers who are fed up with futuristic titles.
REMASTERED MODERN WARFARE WILL COST YOU:
The Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare will come in 3 editions. Mainly the Legacy Edition (80 USD), Digital Deluxe Edition (100 USD), and the Legacy Pro Edition (120 USD). No separate release for the Remastered Modern Warfare so chances are, you’re going to spend 80 USD for the base game, plus the remastered one. The remastred Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare will come with the full campaign, and with 10 multiplayer maps including fan favorites such as the Crash, Overgrown, Crossfire, Backlot, and the Bog. The studio behind the remastered, Raven Software – said that the enhanced Modern Warfare will stay true to the form of the critically acclaimed game.
Gameplay is said to be a 1:1 copy of the original, and the difference will be the graphical fidelity. Raven Studios said that the game will not just add higher definition textures and they have designed it from the ground up. We’ve seen screenshots, and from the looks of things from the trailer, the Remastered game is definitely looking good for the current generation of gamers.
The game is set to be released this coming November 4th, of 2016 – and will be released for the PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
