Colorful Technology is thrilled to announce this year’s COLORFUL GAMES UNION gaming competition which will be hosted in Wuhan, China. Players from China, Korea, Vietnam, Indonesia, Thailand and the Philippines will battle it out to decide the 2017 CGU APAC Premier Champion.
This year, players will be competing in League of Legends, Overwatch and DOTA2 to crown the CGU champion in their respective discipline.
The CGU APAC Premier 2017 will see top eSports stars like RNG and LPL compete in the event and special guests will be present to commemorate another great milestone in CGU’s history with distinguished guests from NVIDIA, INTEL and SiliconMotion will be appearing in the event finals.
History of CGU
COLORFUL is a long-time supporter of eSports and has been holding the COLORFUL GAMES UNION (CGU) since 2013. The event was pioneered in China where college students where given the platform to compete against fellow gamers and DIY lovers to increase their drive and skills. Amongst 1280 teams from 16 cities, League of Legends team Snake came out on top as the first ever CGU Champion which catapulted their professional eSports career.
In 2015, CGU expanded to 8 regions in China which attracted 600 iCafe teams to join and not only colleges.
In 2016, COLORFUL held its grandest competition yet with more than 700 teams from 200 cities vying for the championship spot of CGU. With more than 5000 people attending the event at the Technology University in Wuhan and more than half-a-million fans watching online, it was truly a great success for COLORFUL.
With “to be yourself” as its theme, CGU 2016 brought “iGame eSporters” to courage people struggling for his own dream. Highlight this event, Mr. Allen.W, Design Director of Colorful, took his experience as example to tell how he figured out iGame eSporter and iGame image Vultune, giving customers a whole new iGame.
