Globe Telecom wishes to inform everyone that the globetelecom.ph is not an official online property of the company.

Globe strongly advises everyone to be vigilant and refrain from providing any personal information on the site.

We wish to inform our valued customers that https://globetelecom.ph/ is NOT an official Globe online property and is NOT connected with the company. Globe Telecom is working with concerned authorities on fraud and trademark infringement to permanently remove this site. We strongly advise our customers against providing any crowdsourcing information on the fraudulent site. We also appeal to our customers to report any similar attempts of fraud. For any information on our products and services, please visit us online at https://globe.com.ph

Customers may also relay any concerns through Globe’s customer hotline and through Twitter channels @enjoyGLOBE and @Talk2GLOBE; Facebook page Globe Telecom; or through Enjoy Globe on Viber. – Globe Senior Vice President for Corporate Communications Yoly Crisanto.

The fraudulent website appears almost identical compared to the official one – with assets and even URLs directly pointing out to the official page’s URLs. Other links are internal though and that’s where caution is required. One wrong move here and you’ll provide the fraud site with important personal information that could be used against you.

Fake Globe Website PR 1

A quick Whois look-up tells us that the server hosting the site is located at Russia, with a domain registration provided by dot.ph. A certain Frederik Havemann registered the domain from Hong Kong using the organization “Globe BGC”. These could be easily modified within the dot.ph’s domain manager so there’s a huge probability that these are faux information to cover the tracks of the registrant.

Fake Globe Website PR 2

While the fake site has no SSL in place, the official site from globe has yet to fully implement the technology. A good SSL implementation makes sure that your connection to the site is fully secure – just like ours. Anyway, I’m pretty sure that Globe’s already doing their best to take down the site for the betterment of everyone.
