ZTE Highlights AI Innovations at MWC Shanghai 2025

ZTE Corporation presented its latest developments in artificial intelligence (AI) at MWC Shanghai 2025. The company’s exhibits focused on how AI is being integrated into networks, applications, and user devices.

ZTE showcased its progress in AI-powered phones and smart home products. The company stated its goal is to offer complete solutions, from basic infrastructure to application systems, for businesses, service providers, and individual users, with the aim of making AI accessible to everyone.

AI in Networks: Improving Network Operations

The increased interest in AI is leading to higher demand for technology upgrades and digital changes in industries, creating new opportunities for network operators. ZTE is working to improve network connectivity and value through AI-driven technologies. New solutions include:

  • Full-scenario coverage solution: This solution uses technologies like uplink three-component-carrier aggregation, MiCell, and qNCR products to provide strong connections for new services (like AI-powered devices, self-driving cars, and virtual reality) and in areas with weak signals (such as elevators and underground parking).
  • Integrated low-altitude solution: ZTE has developed an “ISAC Foundation Model” for low-altitude services, which has been deployed in over 100 commercial and test projects.
  • SAGIN solution: This solution uses 5G ATG and NTN technologies to extend wireless connectivity to high altitudes and space.

ZTE has also introduced other solutions for network improvements:

  • AIR RAN solution: Integrates AI to improve energy use, maintenance, and user experience in 5G networks.
  • AIR Net solution: An automated network solution designed to enhance network operations.
  • AI-optical campus solution: Aims to improve efficiency in city networks.
  • HI-NET solution: A high-performance transport network solution that combines device, edge, network, and computing capabilities. This includes an integrated sensing-communication-computing CPE, full-band OTNs, high-density 800G intelligent switches, and AI-native routers.

Through these network developments, ZTE is building an energy-efficient, widely covered, and intelligent network infrastructure that supports current needs and prepares for future AI applications, helping operators with digital changes.

AI Applications: Enhancing Industry Productivity

AI applications are changing various industries, moving from experimental stages to creating real value. ZTE demonstrated how AI is being used in areas like government, transportation, car manufacturing, education, and healthcare. They also showed AI applications for smart manufacturing and ensuring businesses follow global rules, highlighting how AI can boost productivity.

ZTE’s AiCube all-in-one machine is being used in several fields:

  • Education: ZTE partnered with Zhejiang University to use Zhihai AI Education AiCube for AI courses and training.
  • Healthcare: ZTE’s Medical-Care AiCube helps hospitals generate diagnostic reports quickly and accurately. ZTE also worked with Shanzhen, a healthcare provider, to launch an AI check machine for reviewing medical reports.
  • Automotive design: ZTE collaborated with Dongfeng Motor for AI-driven car design to improve efficiency and creativity.

ZTE Digital Nebula has been applied in important areas:

  • Taicang Port: A smart fire and smoke detection system has reduced hardware costs and false alarms.
  • Qingdao Metro: Large Language Models (LLM) and AI agents are being used to improve operational efficiency.
  • Jiangning District, Nanjing City: A unified network management and analysis system is being used to improve urban governance.

ZTE also showed how AI improves sensing, interaction, decision-making, and actions at its Nanjing Binjiang Base, leading to upgrades in industrial manufacturing. Additionally, AI agents on the ECSS platform provide compliance services for companies expanding internationally, using ZTE’s global operational experience.

These advancements are supported by ZTE’s ongoing work in intelligent computing. Their full-stack intelligent computing solution promotes a sustainable system through open architecture and separate components, maximizing resource use through software-hardware coordination. Hardware developments include SuperPOD servers, AiCube products, in-house chips, AIDC switches, and full-band OTN products for high-speed connections. Software innovations aim for efficient and stable AI model training and cost-effective use. ZTE also launched Agent Factory Co-Sight for quick application development. For green computing, their prefabricated modular data center solution reduces construction time, and their power and battery products in 5G base stations have lowered carbon emissions.

AI-Powered Devices: Improving User Experiences

With AI models changing how people interact with technology and the value of product ecosystems, ZTE is expanding its offerings for consumers and homes. At the event, visitors could experience a “Day with AI” that combined 2D culture and gaming.
