Maya and PLDT Inc., are playing a crucial role in promoting the government’s push for greater financial services adoption as co-presenters of the pioneering “Cashless Expo 2023.” This groundbreaking event, organized by Go Digital Pilipinas (GDP), is scheduled to take place from November 17 to 19 at the World Trade Center.

The expo aims to showcase a wide range of digital financial services, payment solutions, and contactless innovations tailored for consumers and micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs). It is a collaborative effort involving key government bodies, including the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), the Department of Tourism (DoT), and the Department of Agriculture (DA).

PLDT’s President and CEO, Al Panlilio, expressed the company’s commitment to supporting digital adoption in the country, particularly in the realm of e-commerce. Similarly, Shailesh Baidwan, President of the Maya Group and Co-Founder of Maya Bank, highlighted Maya’s goal to catalyze the widespread adoption of digital transactions among consumers and enterprises, with a focus on MSMEs.

The expo’s objective is to increase digital adoption among merchants, promote cashless transactions among consumers, and showcase Filipino-made products. It also aims to facilitate advanced digital banking services like savings and credit. The event, titled “Cashless Expo — Bagong Pilipinas, Cashless Payments Na!” will feature a three-day trade show with a special focus on Philippine-made goods and services bought and sold via digital payments-only transactions, introducing innovative approaches to cashless payments.

GDP, a non-profit organization, is dedicated to improving the lives of Filipinos through the adoption of digital services and is aligned with the government’s efforts to bridge the digital divide by promoting digital literacy and a sustainable digital ecosystem. PLDT’s support for GDP and PSAC (Presidential Private Sector Advisory Council) aligns with its commitment to enhancing customer experience and uplifting the lives of Filipinos through the adoption of digital services while ensuring high-quality internet and connectivity service for all.
