MSI at COMPUTEX 2023 is a huge smorgasbord mainly due to their notebooks and laptops lined-up for a feast.
There were many models and variants on display so we are listing our favorites here in no particular order. This list excludes the luxurious MSI Stealth 16 Mercedes-AMG model, from which you could learn more on our hands-on preview – it deserves its own spotlight to be honest.
Raider GE68 HX 13V
First up is the Raider GE68. This 16 inch laptop comes with a rather audacious design featuring a lightbar dubbed as the Mystic Light Matrix Lightbar. Reminds me of KITT from the Nightrider series.
Anyway, the Raider GE68 also comes with a 16:10 panel with up to 240 Hz of refresh rate (2560 x 1600) depending on the configuration. It also has the Intel Core i9 HX CPU inside along with your graphics of choice starting from the NVIDIA RTX 4060 up to the RTX 4090 Laptop GPU.
Stealth 14 Studio A13V
The Stealth 14 Studio A13V is the refresh for the A13U SKU. This notebook comes equipped with the 13th Generation Intel Processors along with the NVIDIA RTX 40 Series Laptop GPUs.
Chassis, like its more premium larger brother is made out of magnesium-aluminum alloy. Weight is at 1.7 kg while thickness is just about 19 mm – decent for its class.
Katana 17 B13V
The Katana is a beefy 17.3 inch gaming laptop – definitely a far cry to what its name signifies. In MSI’s defense, that’s not what Katana meant to them.
Specification wise, this model comes with an Intel Core i7-13620H and a GeForce RTX 4060 Laptop GPU inside – as a maximum configuration. Pretty much your go to model that wouldn’t break the bank according to MSI.
Cyborg 15 A13V
The Cyborg 15 blurs the line between a laptop and notebook. It is definitely leaning towards the beefier side though with its specifications and overall physic.
Specification wise we are looking at the same configuration with the Katana 17 B13V. It has one cool trick up its sleeve though and that’s its translucent frame. Pretty cool up close – reminds me of some Delrin (POM-H) stuff.
Sword 15 A12V
The Sword 15 A12V is yet another 15-incher from MSI. It is a contrast to the other gaming models due to its White and Black colorway.
The Sword is also a step up from the last two laptops featuring an RTX 4070 Laptop GPU inside.
Summit E16 Flip Evo A13M
Now the Summit E16 is more of a business oriented model from MSI. This is a 16 inch laptop featuring an ultra-slim body at 16.85 mm. Weight is at 2.1 kg though so just acceptable to lug everywhere – definitely not a back pack material.
The Summit E16 as its name suggest is a 2-in-1 laptop. It comes with its own stylus and has a 16 inch 16:10 QHD+ (2560 x 1600) IPS level panel. What’s surprising is its 165 Hz refresh rate for such applications. I would love to to own something like this but maybe at 15 inches and with a more acceptable weight for my stature.
Commercial 14 H
The Commercial 14 is aimed to compete against high-end enterprise PCs like Lenovo’s Thinkpads. It comes with NFC and a built-in smart card reader – adding an extra layer of security.
Like many business oriented devices, individuals may customize the laptop according to their requirements before check out. The MSI Commercial 14 comes with a host of connectivity ports including Thunderbolt 4, USB-A, Ethernet, and NFC. It also features fast charging and a spill-resistant cover.
Modern 14 C13M
Now the Modern 14 is definitely a notebook with its 14 inch form factor plus a slim and an ultra-light profile at 19 mm and 1.4 kg respectively.
This might not be a power house but considering its size and weight, it is definitely something to look out for if you are shopping for an ultra-portable notebook.
