Pearl Abyss announced upcoming content for Black Desert at its Heidel Ball event. Updates include a new character class, a new region, and various system improvements.

New Class and Future Character
The Wukong class will be released on July 2. This class uses a Power Pole and Jade Pillar, features multiple combat stances, and can enter a “Fighting Buddha” state. Its abilities include the Flying Nimbus, and its lore connects to the character Lahn.
Concept art was shown for the “Savior,” a female greatsword-wielding knight, which is planned for release with Edania Part 2.
Edania Region
The Edania region is scheduled for release on August 7 as Part 1. This new area, located north of Valencia, contains five castles, each with a boss and unique lore. New “Edania” species monsters will be present, alongside new artifacts, crystals, and alchemy recipes.
Edania introduces a new PvP system where top players can become the “Edana” and rule castles. Rewards for this include crowns, in-game privileges, income from Marni’s Realm passes, and the ability to apply item drop rate buffs.
Gear progression in Edania includes Edana’s Armor, which offers the highest defensive stats, and Sovereign Weapons, which receive AP and accuracy boosts. Sovereign main weapons can also be reformed. All players will receive one Inverted Garmoth’s Heart to support this upgrade.
New Player Experience and Quality-of-Life Updates
Olvia town will be restructured into “Olvia School,” a beginner-focused area for training and social interaction. New players will receive up to 10 billion Silver through quests.
Upcoming interface updates include:
- Display of active buffs in the player profile.
- A dedicated enhancement bag.
- A clearer UI for the enhancement system.
Party content will be more inclusive with updates to the Black Shrine Hwanghae system, allowing players to assist others with boss attempts even after using their own. Additional quality-of-life improvements, such as enhanced world map navigation and event tracking, are planned through August.
Mid-Game and Veteran Player Features
Updates for mid-game and veteran players include:
- Universal build presets for swapping gear and skills.
- A unified Adventure Log, consolidating key stat buffs into Igor Bartali’s Adventure log. Other logs will provide cosmetic titles.
- Improvements to farming and outfit storage with new bags for seeds and outfits.
- Expanded customization options for maids, including names and potential AI features.
The new Blue Battlefield will introduce large-scale naval PvP, supporting up to 20 players per guild, with fort occupation and specialized ship roles.
Progression and PvP Changes
Allan Serbin’s Landscape will allow players to select monster zones for treasure fragment drops. Alchemy Stones will be simplified for upgrades. A new mythical horse, tentatively named Diné-Ardunatt-Doom, is planned with land, air, and water travel capabilities.
Players will have new methods to craft and enhance Sovereign sub-weapons and Edana’s Armor using materials from weekly bosses and special content.
PvP reforms will:
- Standardize accuracy/evasion.
- Separate PvE and PvP effects.
- Clarify class damage groups.
- Remove resistances.
A “Master Class” tournament, featuring 1v1 battles among the top 5% of each class, is scheduled for late fall.
Seasonal Content and Rewards
Two new summer-themed outfit sets, “Summer Getaway” and “Ocean Spray,” will be available with customization options and temporary bonuses.
All players will receive in-game rewards to celebrate Heidel Ball, including 20,000 Cron Stones, seven J’s Hammers of Loyalty, a Choose Your Rare Hammer Box, weapon exchange coupons, and an Inverted Garmoth’s Heart.
