AMD Expands Ryzen PRO 9000 Series with 3D V-Cache

AMD is bringing its stacked-cache technology to the enterprise desktop market, announcing an expanded lineup of Ryzen PRO 9000 Series workstation processors slated for release in the second half of 2026.

The update introduces AMD 3D V-Cache to commercial desktops for the first time. This enterprise integration directly leverages the vertical-stacking architecture popularized by AMD’s consumer enthusiast lineup, specifically chips like the Ryzen 7 9850X3D.

By porting this massive L3 cache expansion to the PRO series, AMD aims to drastically reduce data latency and eliminate memory bottlenecks in commercial environments. While the consumer-focused Ryzen 7 9850X3D uses this technology to maximize frame rates and computing throughput for enthusiasts, the PRO variants will utilize the identical cache architecture to accelerate complex simulations, mathematical modeling, rendering, and real-time visualization.

Key Specifications and Deployment

The expanded Ryzen PRO 9000 portfolio scales across a wide hardware footprint to accommodate deployment needs ranging from compact enterprise desktops to full-scale tower workstations:

  • Core Counts: 6 to 16 high-performance cores.
  • Thermal Design Power (TDP): Scalable power envelopes from 65 W to 170 W.
