ASUS raises the bar with their X399 and X299 motherboards displayed at COMPUTEX 2017. These motherboards are built for professionals, content creation and hardcore gaming – with a price that should match.

First up on the list are the ASUS ROG models, with the ROG X399 Zenith Extreme the only AMD SKU present at the event. This one comes with 8 slots of DDR4 memory, is quad channel capable and has 4 full sized PCI-E 3.0 slots. The board requires 2x 4+4 Pin CPU power and it is conveniently situated near the 24 Pin motherboard power.  Similar to the ROG Maximus IX Apex, this one also comes with the DIMM.2 slot.

The Rampage VI Extreme is the flagship X299 motherboard and boy it looks good enough to earn the title. RGB is good when it is implemented at its fullest and the X299 Rampage VI Extreme is a perfect example. Board comes with DIMM.2 and a 802.11ac Wi-Fi as well.

The Prime X299 Deluxe is the standard X299 motherboard from ASUS and if you need the basic X299 motherboard features without the flare, then this one is for you.

The X299 TUF Mark I remains faitful to the TUF tradition with a thermal armor for the PCB. This one comes with an active PCH fan that should help dissipate heat from the covered components.

As for other components, ASUS also had the Hyper M.2 x16 card. This is basically a RAID capable PCI-E card that could house 4x M.2 devices. Comes with an active cooling unit too to combat throttling.
