Lenovo has launched ThinkShield Firmware Assurance, an advanced cybersecurity tool providing visibility and protection below the OS level.

Built on Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA), the solution enhances risk management by securing critical device components and supporting enterprise Zero Trust goals.

Unlike traditional software-based methods, ThinkShield Firmware Assurance uses an embedded controller to verify system integrity during boot, preventing unauthorized firmware changes and ensuring BIOS policy recovery. This offers rapid deployment for IT teams to strengthen device and network security.

ThinkShield addresses every level of protection and security, including:

  • Supply Chain Assurance: Enables customers to validate hardware components in devices against tampering from the factory floor straight to their employees’ hands.
  • Below-the-Operating System: Covers hardware, firmware, operating system and cloud to defend against hardware attacks, help ensure firmware integrity and provide real-time alerts for any attack attempts.
  • Operation System-to-Cloud: Includes AI-powered endpoint protection, work from anywhere protection, remote management, cloud backup, password-less authentication, data defense, patented solution to protect browser, email and file explorer and an automated BIOS patching solution.

Part of Lenovo’s ThinkShield portfolio, this solution integrates hardware, software, and services to safeguard devices from manufacturing to end-user deployment. ThinkShield addresses supply chain integrity, firmware defense, and cloud-to-device protection.

The ThinkShield Firmware Assurance is now globally available.
