Futuremark has released a new feature test for NVIDIA Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS) to the 3DMark Port Royal Benchmark, the world’s first ray tracing benchmark.
DLSS applies deep learning to accelerate rendering, while maintaining crisp, smooth edges on rendered objects in 3DMark Port Royal. With RTX ON in 3DMark Port Royal, gamers will get the best of both worlds; beautiful real-time ray tracing and smooth frame rates with DLSS.
3DMark Port Royal with NVIDIA DLSS
3DMark Port Royal is a new benchmarking tool that features real-time ray traced reflections and shadows. It can be used to illustrate how DXR ray tracing performance scales across various NVIDIA Turing-based GeForce RTX GPUs.
The new DLSS feature test demonstrates significant performance gains in real-time ray tracing.
DLSS
DLSS leverages a deep neural network to extract multi-dimensional features of the rendered scene, and intelligently applies image enhancement and smoothing to object edges and other high-contrast regions. This results in smooth anti-aliased edges, but avoids blurring of the entire scene as can happen with TAA or other approaches. DLSS helps maintain image clarity, sharpness, and temporal stability while improving performance.
Game Ready for 3DMark Port Royal with DLSS
GeForce Gamers are ready today with a new Game Ready Driver for 3DMark Port Royal with DLSS. You can grab the new driver from here: https://www.geforce.com/drivers.
NVIDIA Game Ready Drivers provide the best experience for GeForce gamers because NVIDIA engineers work up until the last possible minute to optimize performance and perfect gameplay. And as an additional verification of quality, every Game Ready Driver is WHQL-certified by Microsoft.
