AMD brought their FreeSync adaptive V-sync feature with the latest Catalyst OMEGA driver, and it’s just a matter of time for us to see one in the prowl. – or is it? Overclockers UK, an EU based online retail store already had one at stock, and it’s actually cheaper than its G-Sync equipped counterparts as reported.
The Iiyama ProLite B2888UHSU-B1 is the first FreeSync enabled display on sale, featuring a 28″ panel size, 3840 x 2160 resolution, tons of display ports, and even USB connectivity. Response time is at 1ms, and the panel itself is of the TN variant. For the price of $600, this is already tad cheaper compared to G-sync enabled models with the same specifications. SEE LINK
FreeSync is AMD’s answer to Nvidia’s G-Sync technology, and while offering similar end results, AMD wants FreeSync to be the open standard when it comes to screen tearing free display technology. AMD will announce the list of FreeSync enabled display vendors at CES 2015 next year.
