Asian Teams begin their journey in the AOV World Cup

Team Malaysia, Singapore and Philippines together with 11 other elite teams across 9 AOV regions, will be undergoing a 2-week bootcamp in Bangkok, Thailand. This is in preparation for the upcoming Arena of Valor World Cup (AWC) which will take place in July 2018 in Los Angeles. For the 2 weeks, the 12 teams will be going through a series of training matches by professional coaches and experts, photoshoots, and video shoots. The teams will be playing in the AWC Bootcamp Group Stage from 17 to 24 June 2018. The ranking of this group stage will determine the team’s fate in the seeding process during AWC. Team MSP will be facing off their first opponent, Team South America (SA), at 9:00PM on the very first day of the group stage.

The group stage will contribute 1 point to each winning team. All the teams will be ranked on the leaderboard according to the number of points. For each match, the newly implemented 3-bans system will be used. The audience will definitely see a lot of heroes that are often picked during pro-leagues such as Liliana, Max, and Omen in this tournament.

“The Arena of Valor World Cup 2018 Boot Camp held this year in Thailand aims to create the rare opportunity for players to understand their opponents and get used to the pressure of competition earlier. This will serve to efficiently increase the strength of all participating regions and improve the overall tournament viewer experience. Star players of AOV from all over the world will meet and embark on a journey they are sure to remember.” said Ray Ning, Product Director of Arena of Valor eSports, Tencent.
