ASRock has introduced its first-ever passive cooling graphics cards: the AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX Passive 24 GB and RX 7900 XT Passive 20 GB.
These passively cooled graphics cards feature the high-performance AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX and RX 7900 XT GPUs, respectively. Designed for multi-GPU collaborative computing, they offer enhanced performance in parallel computing environments.
Key features include:
- VAPOR-CHAMBER heatsink for efficient cooling
- V-shaped aluminum cooling fins for improved heat dissipation
- Single horizontal 12V-2×6 power connector for easier multi-card installations
- Metal backplate for structural integrity
The passive cooling design eliminates fan noise, making these cards ideal for quiet computing environments. Their efficient cooling system and robust construction make them particularly attractive to systems integrators. That includes submerged systems or liquid immersion cooling.
On that note, while these cards appears to be available for purchase via retailers, it is not advised for the usual gaming setups or even fan-less consumer builds. These cards will definitely throttle down unless a capable cooling solution is applied. This is the reason why ASRock did not mention anything about the cards related to gaming applications.
Nothing has been said about the price nor availability of the RX 7900 Passive graphics cards.
