In a significant move to bolster India’s domestic tech ecosystem, Giga Computing, a subsidiary of the GIGABYTE Group, has officially announced a strategic partnership with Syrma SGS Technology Limited to begin local manufacturing of server products.
This collaboration aligns with the Government of India’s “Make in India” initiative and aims to enhance global supply chain resilience while accelerating delivery times for the South Asian market.
Localized Production in Tamil Nadu
The manufacturing operations will be based at Syrma SGS’s facility in Chennai. Initially, the partnership will focus on the assembly of high-performance server motherboards, specifically the GIGABYTE MS73-HB0 and MZ33-AR1. These enterprise-grade components are critical for data centers and large-scale computing environments.

Looking ahead, the collaboration is set to evolve beyond motherboard assembly into full “box-build” system manufacturing. This expansion will not only serve the growing Indian demand but is also intended to establish India as a hub for international exports.
Strengthening the Supply Chain
By choosing Syrma SGS—a premier Indian electronics manufacturing services (EMS) provider and a participant in the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme—Giga Computing gains access to over 30 years of manufacturing expertise. The proximity of the Chennai facility to Giga Computing’s local operations is expected to create significant synergies in production efficiency and lead-time optimization.
“India is one of the more dynamic and promising markets for computing infrastructure today,” said Andy Neo, Sales Director at Giga Computing. “Partnering with Syrma SGS ensures that our customers in India benefit from world-class motherboards and servers produced closer to home.”
Satendra Singh, CEO of Syrma SGS Technology Limited, echoed this sentiment, stating: “This partnership aligns with the Government of India’s vision for self-reliance while also creating opportunities to serve international markets in the future.”
Impact on the Tech Sector
As the demand for AI, cloud infrastructure, and data processing continues to surge in India, local manufacturing reduces dependency on imports and provides enterprises with faster access to cutting-edge hardware. This move positions GIGABYTE as a key player in supporting India’s digital transformation.
