Design, Build and Connectivity

The SAMA A60 leverages a dual-tower design with two 120 mm fans to deliver robust cooling performance. It also includes brushed aluminum heat-pipe covers, which enhance the cooler’s aesthetics for a clean build while providing added protection.

To manage thermals, the A60E utilizes six heat-pipes that draw heat directly from the cold plate. The contact surface itself is CNC-machined aluminum, backed with a nickel-plated finish which is excellent for its price-point.

The A60E comes with two 120 mm fans, each designed with nine blades and built-in rubber dampeners to minimize vibration. These fans can reach speeds of up to 2200 RPM and include guide rings to enhance stability, reducing both noise and vibrations.

Installation and Clearance

Installation of the A60E is relatively easy, thanks to a clear manual. The process is even simpler for AMD users, as it reuses the stock AM4/AM5 backplate. SAMA includes its high-conductivity FREEZEE thermal paste, along with a center cap or sticker for the front fan.

The SAMA A60E is a strong contender for understated system builds. Just note that it is a large dual-tower unit, so checking your case and memory clearance is essential to guarantee it will fit.

Temperature

The SAMA A60E’s 265 W TDP rating appears highly optimistic. During testing, it successfully cooled the AMD Ryzen 9 7900X at 65 W and 105 W. However, when set to the stock 170 W profile, the cooler could not prevent the CPU from hitting its 95°C thermal limit.

Noise

The A60E truly excels in its low-noise performance. Noise remains acceptable, even with the fans running at full speed. My testing revealed an optimal balance at 75% PWM (around 1600 RPM), which delivers excellent cooling power without any distracting noise. At this sweet spot, its noise output is comparable to the SAMA L70 CPU cooler.

Sound Level Meter | Noise
PWM (%) Noise (dBA) Speed (RPM)
25 31.3 832
50 31.9 1230
75 37.6 1660
100 44.2 2042

Final Thoughts

For a cooler in the budget segment, the SAMA A60E makes a compelling case for itself, delivering features often found in more expensive models. Its dual-tower design, brushed metal top cover, and nickel-plated copper base give it a premium aesthetic that will enhance most builds. The installation is refreshingly simple, especially for AMD users – even including a copious amount of thermal paste.

The A60E’s standout feature, however, is its excellent acoustic performance. It “truly excels” at low-noise operation, finding an impressive sweet spot at 75% PWM that delivers solid cooling without any distracting fan noise.

Where this cooler’s budget nature becomes clear is in its thermal limits. While the 265 W TDP rating provided by the factory is ambitious, our tests show its real-world comfort zone is with mid-range processors. It handled our 65W and 105W profiles effectively, but it was not designed to tame high-wattage CPUs like the Ryzen 9 7900X at its 170 W profile.

For its highly aggressive ₱2,119 price point, the SAMA A60E is not meant to compete with high-end enthusiast coolers. Instead, it is an outstanding upgrade for gamers with mid-range CPUs (in the 65-105 W range) who prioritize quiet operation and premium aesthetics over raw, high-TDP thermal headroom. If that’s your build, the A60E offers exceptional value.
