This event is going to be HUGE! This is the first time that the MDL has ever taken an event outside of China, so we should expect them to pull out all the stops.

16 of the top DOTA 2 teams in the world will hit Paris to try and snag up their portion of the $1,000,000.00 prize pool dedicated to this event. This event is groundbreaking in several ways.

  • First ever MDL away from China (as we mentioned)
  • First ever DOTA 2 Major held in France
  • First eSports tournament hosted by Disney since 2010.

How it works

15 teams will make the cut through regional qualifiers, three teams per region. The final team will be whoever is the winner of the OGA Dota Pit Minor.

The format is double-elimination with eight teams in two brackets: upper & lower. The first round of the Lower Bracket are Best of 1 matches, and the Grand Finals are Best of 5. All other matches are Best of 3. Things will get super exciting during the last four days of play because all matches are played out in front of a live audience.

The prize pool is a Mega Million and there are also 15,000 Pro Circuit Points up for grabs that invaluably go towards The International. 1st gets 4,950, 2nd gets 3,000, 3rd gets 2,100, and 4th gets 1,350, 5th and 6th get 900 each, 7th and 8th get 450 each.
