Gigabyte has released a comprehensive BIOS update across its entire lineup of Intel 800, 700, and 600 series motherboards, introducing native support for the new HUDIMM (One Sub-channel DDR5) memory standard. The rollout directly addresses elevated DDR5 market prices and supply constraints by enabling compatibility with a lower-cost memory architecture.
Lowering DDR5 Entry Barriers
Standard DDR5 UDIMM modules operate using dual 32-bit sub-channels. The newly introduced HUDIMM specification alters this framework by utilizing a single 32-bit sub-channel per module.
Flexible Memory Configurations
Beyond supporting standalone HUDIMM modules, the updated BIOS allows users to run asymmetric, mixed-memory configurations.
Compatibility and Availability
Gigabyte’s latest firmware rollout covers its full lineup of recent Intel platforms, with all Intel 800, 700, and 600 series motherboards eligible for the update. The new BIOS versions are now live and ready to download from the official Gigabyte support page.
