Noctua has officially expanded its flagship fan lineup with the NF-A12x25 G2 chromax.black, bringing the performance of its most advanced 120 mm fan to an all-black aesthetic. The release follows the debut of the signature brown-and-beige G2 model earlier this year, addressing the demand for high-performance cooling that fits modern, neutral-themed builds.
The NF-A12x25 G2 is a fundamental redesign of the industry-standard A12x25. The core of the G2’s efficiency lies in its 0.5 mm tip clearance, an engineering feat made possible by the use of Sterrox® liquid-crystal polymer (LCP). This ultra-tight tolerance minimizes “leakage” or pressure loss between the blade tips and the frame, allowing the fan to maintain higher static pressure against restrictive obstacles like thick radiators and dense heatsinks.
Key technical upgrades include:
- Progressive-Ratio Impeller: Optimized to improve airflow-to-noise ratios across the entire RPM range.
- Centrifugal Turbulator Hub: Reduces flow separation at the blade roots, further lowering acoustic profiles.
- SSO2 Bearing: Noctua’s second-generation self-stabilizing oil-pressure bearing remains the standard for long-term durability and quiet operation.
Stealth Aesthetics and Customization
The chromax.black variant replaces the traditional Noctua color palette with a matte-black finish. Each fan includes swappable anti-vibration pads in black, white, red, blue, green, and yellow, allowing for subtle color accents without sacrificing the stealth look.

The package includes the fan, a NA-RC16 Low-Noise Adaptor (L.N.A.), a 4-pin PWM y-cable, and a 30 cm extension cable. For radiator users, the fan comes with the NA-AVG2 anti-vibration gasket, which ensures a flush seal against the radiator to prevent air bypass.
Pricing and Availability
The NF-A12x25 G2 chromax.black is available immediately via Noctua’s official Amazon stores with an MSRP of $34.90 / €34.90.
