Nvidia Unveils “Constellation” HQ Design Alongside $150 Billion Investment

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang took center stage at an event in Taipei’s Beitou Technology Park to unveil the company’s ambitious plans for Taiwan: a gleaming new headquarters called Nvidia Constellation, and a staggering $150 billion investment into the island nation. That’s fifteen times the amount pledged by rival AMD.

A Building Built on Transparency

Set to rise on the T17 and T18 plots of Beitou Technology Park, Nvidia Constellation is designed as a mirror image of the company’s US headquarters, spanning 700,000 square feet (approximately 6.5 hectares). The structure’s facade of triangles and polygons, clad in floor-to-ceiling glass, is a deliberate architectural statement.

“We have to be a transparent company so that the whole world can trust us,” Huang said. “Our building is designed to be completely transparent.”

In characteristic fashion, the CEO also managed to slip in a jab at a common office inconvenience. “I hate the concept of elevators,” he quipped, noting the endless waiting involved.

Huang added that the very first feature slated to be installed in the building is neither a server room nor his personal office — but a bar, drawing laughter from the crowd. He also announced a broader architectural ambition: Nvidia intends to be the world’s first company to replicate its headquarters design across multiple locations globally.

The Price of Progress

While the investment announcement drew applause, Huang was candid about what Taiwan needs to deliver on the AI revolution’s promise.

“Human labor needs rice. AI labor needs electricity,” he told attendees, directly addressing Taipei Mayor Da-an, who was present at the event. “If you want to grow with that industrial revolution, you need energy. Energy growth is fundamental to the GDP of Taiwan.”

The mayor, in turn, honored Huang with two symbolic gifts: a golden key to the city and a hand-written calligraphy scroll that incorporated Nvidia’s name in Chinese characters.

The Epicenter of the AI Revolution

Huang expressed deep personal affection for Taiwan, the birthplace of his family roots. “Taiwan has treated me and all of my family and our employees so wonderfully,” he said. “I can’t wait to break ground.”

Construction on Nvidia Constellation is set to begin before the end of this year, with the building expected to open its doors in 2030. The company currently employs roughly 1,000 people in Taiwan, a figure that will grow to 4,000 as the new campus comes to life; a tangible sign of Nvidia’s long-term commitment to the region.
