NVIDIA has a lot of gaming news that debuted at COMPUTEX 2023. We naturally missed some during the chaos but our friends at NVIDIA gave us this info-packed list of what happened specifically with their ACE for Games announcements.

Here is a summary of NVIDIA’s COMPUTEX gaming news:

NVIDIA ACE for Games Sparks Life Into NPCs

Announced in the COMPUTEX 2023 keynote address, NVIDIA Avatar Cloud Engine (ACE) for Games, is a custom AI model foundry service that aims to transform games by bringing intelligence to non-playable characters (NPCs) through AI-powered natural language interactions.

Developers of middleware, tools and games can use ACE for Games to build and deploy customized speech, conversation and animation AI models in their software and games. Read our coverage here.

Ushering in the Generative AI Era

Generative AI, like ACE for Games, ChatGPT, Adobe Firefly and even DLSS 3 Frame Generation – is everywhere. GeForce RTX and NVIDIA RTX GPUs, with fourth-generation Tensor Cores, are ready for it.

Coming soon, NVIDIA will introduce new Max-Q low-power inferencing for AI-only workloads on RTX laptops and mobile workstations. That includes new ultraportable, ultra performance 14 inch models.

Optimizing Tensor Core performance while keeping power consumption of the GPU as low as possible will extend battery life while maintaining a cool, quiet system. The GPU can then dynamically scale up for maximum AI performance when the workload demands it.

Partners from Microsoft to Adobe to top OEMs are firmly behind NVIDIA with this upcoming Max-Q hardware.

G-SYNC Ultra Low Motion Blur 2 Now Available

Since 2015, Ultra Low Motion Blur (ULMB) has delivered extra motion clarity for competitive gamers. At COMPUTEX, NVIDIA launched G-SYNC Ultra Low Motion Blur 2 (ULMB 2), with over 1000 Hz of effective motion clarity for the best motion blur reduction for competitive gamers. Compared to the original, ULMB 2 delivers full refresh rate backlight strobing, nearly 2x higher brightness, and has practically zero crosstalk.

ULMB 2 is available now for free, for capable monitors through a single-click firmware update.

DLSS Momentum Continues to Roll

Adoption of DLSS is faster than ever and after passing 250 supported released games and apps in January, DLSS games support has now surpassed 300 five months later.

Diablo IV officially launched this June 6th with DLSS 3. DLSS 3 helps GeForce RTX 40 Series gamers multiply performance by an average of 2.5x at 4K and play at over 170 frames per second at 2560 x 1440 on the GeForce RTX 4070.

DLSS Gaming updates coming out of COMPUTEX this week include:

  • Diablo IV (June 6 with DLSS 3 and Reflex)
  • System Shock (available today with DLSS 2)
  • Honor of Kings: World (DLSS 3 and ray tracing at launch)
  • Ash Echoes (DLSS 3 and ray tracing at launch)
  • Legend of Ymir (DLSS 3 and ray tracing at launch)
  • Party Animals (DLSS 2 and Reflex at launch)

Diablo IV and New Games with NVIDIA Reflex

NVIDIA Reflex is a must-have in games, reducing system latency so actions occur quicker, giving gamers a competitive edge in multiplayer matches and making single-player titles more responsive and enjoyable.

Here are the most recent Reflex games:

  • Redfall (available now with Reflex & DLSS 3)
  • Returnal, (available now with Reflex & DLSS 3) Reflex reduces latency by up to 52%
  • The Lord of the Rings: Gollum™ (available now with Reflex, DLSS 3 & DLAA). Reflex reduces latency by up to 56%
  • Diablo IV (launching June 6 with Reflex & DLSS 3) Reflex reduces latency by up to 67%
  • Metal: Hellsinger (update coming soon with Reflex) Reflex reduces latency by up to 27%

Reflex is available in many single-player games, along with the most popular multiplayer and esports games. It is supported on GeForce graphics cards dating back to the 900 Series and only takes a single click to enable. NVIDIA Reflex is now used by over 50 million players each month, is available in 9 of the top 10 competitive shooters, including the Counter-Strike 2 beta. Reflex has been activated by 90% of GeForce gamers in 70+ supported titles.

Game Ready Driver For Diablo IV and System Shock

NVIDIA released a new GeForce Game Ready Driver for the long awaited, much anticipated Diablo IV, that launched this June 6th featuring day-1 support for NVIDIA DLSS 3 and NVIDIA Reflex.

NVIDIA is also Game Ready for the DLSS 2-enhanced remake of System Shock.
