Drop.com is closing its doors as a standalone store on March 31, 2026. Corsair’s finally pulling the plug on the independent site after a three-year run following the acquisition.
It’s the end of an era for the enthusiast hub once known as Massdrop.
What You Need to Know
If you’ve got a stash of Drop Rewards points, you need to burn them fast. They’ll vanish after March 25, 2026 so don’t wait until the final days of the site. After Drop.com goes dark on March 31, Corsair will handle all your order history, existing pre-orders, and warranty claims.
Corsair’s keeping the best-selling keyboard and desk gear around, but they’re moving it all to the main Corsair website. However, don’t hold your breath for the iconic audio collaborations to continue. Partners like Sennheiser, HIFIMAN, and Koss likely won’t make the jump.
It makes zero sense for Corsair to sell competing high-end headphones when they’ve got their own gaming headsets to push. Maybe this is your sign to finally try the legends like the HD6XX, HD58X and many more until the stock runs out.
Predictable Corporate Pivot
We saw this coming miles away. When a giant like Corsair buys a niche enthusiast brand, the “independent” label usually has an expiration date or gets rebranded as a shadow of its former self. Elgato survived, yet Drop didn’t. Since Drop lives or dies on the chemistry of brand and community collaborations, it couldn’t survive a corporate culture that prioritizes scale.

Corsair is prioritizing corporate efficiency over the community-driven “group buy” spirit that built the brand in the first place.
