GIGABYTE Unveils GAMING PSUs with T-Guard Thermal Monitoring

GIGABYTE has introduced its new GAMING Series power supply units, designed to serve as a specialized protective layer for high-performance PC builds.

The primary focus of this release is the introduction of T-Guard, an active thermal monitoring technology developed to address the safety needs of modern 12V-2×6 connectors. By moving beyond traditional passive safety features, GIGABYTE aims to provide a more responsive solution for gamers and creators using power-hungry hardware.

Active Protection for High-Performance GPUs

The standout T-Guard system utilizes precision sensors within the 12V-2×6 connector to track temperatures in real time. If the sensors detect signs of overheating, often caused by abnormal loads or cables that aren’t fully seated, the PSU can intelligently reduce power delivery specifically to the graphics card. This targeted intervention helps prevent connector damage while keeping the rest of the system operational, allowing users to save their current progress and troubleshoot the connection before a full shutdown.

Verified Efficiency and Silent Operation

This series has earned dual certifications from Cybenetics, receiving the ETA Platinum rating for energy efficiency and the LAMBDA A+ rating for noise levels. While maintaining an 80 PLUS Gold status, the units are engineered to minimize waste heat and operate with an average noise output of less than 20 dB(A). The cooling system features a 135 mm Fluid Dynamic Bearing fan combined with HybridCool technology, which allows the fan to stop entirely during low-load tasks for silent performance.

Premium Build Quality and Visual Aids

To assist with proper installation, GIGABYTE has implemented a dual-color cable design for the 12V-2×6 connector. This provides a clear visual indicator so users can easily verify that the cable is securely plugged in. The GAMING series is fully compliant with ATX 3.1 and PCIe 5.1 standards and is constructed using 100% Japanese capacitors to ensure long-term stability.

Available in capacities of 750 W, 850 W, and 1000 W, the units come in both standard black and “Ice” white editions, supported by a 10-year warranty.
