Globe AT HOME is rolling out complimentary speed upgrades of up to 1 Gbps and free Wi-Fi 6 modems for its existing customer base. The initiative targets the rising costs of transport and energy by incentivizing remote work and digital learning through improved home connectivity.
The speed boosts are being applied proactively to loyal accounts at no extra monthly cost. For customers whose current hardware cannot support these higher speeds, Globe is offering a Wi-Fi 6 modem upgrade for free, provided the customer agrees to a new 24-month lock-in period.
Abigail Cardino, Vice President and Head of Brand Management for Broadband Business at Globe, linked the program to national energy conservation efforts. “By providing complimentary speed boosts and free Wi-Fi 6 upgrades, we are empowering our customers to stay productive from the comfort of their homes,” Cardino stated. She noted that increasing the efficiency of digital tasks at home directly impacts collective fuel consumption and reduces the strain on transport infrastructure.
The Wi-Fi 6 standard offers improved capacity and better performance in environments with multiple connected devices, which has become the standard for Filipino households balancing simultaneous professional and academic demands.
