The T-Create Expert DDR5-6400 offers an understated aesthetics that is appropriate for a professional setting or minimalist builds. The memory kit is a standard DDR5 LO-DIMM in size, which means it is 100% compatible (clearance wise) with any desktop CPU coolers.
TEAMGROUP also offers the T-Create Expert DDR5 modules in white which is appropriate to match with light-colored parts or themed builds. Each 16 GB module is single rank by design.
The memory kit comes with two profiles: Default, which is a JEDEC specification running at DDR5-5200 CL42-42-42 and the XMP/EXPO at DDR5-6400 CL40-40-40. Both profiles will be tested in this review.
This memory kit is benchmarked with a test system featuring the AMD Ryzen 9 7900X processor, Radeon RX 7800 XT graphics card, and an ASUS ROG Strix X670E-I Gaming WiFi motherboard.
Throughput
AIDA64 highlights the considerable performance loss when the memory kit operates under JEDEC specifications. Note that while the T-Create Expert is clearly optimized for DDR5-6400, performance outcomes in other benchmarks might still differ.
Encryption
The two memory profiles tested show no substantial variation in performance when tested using AIDA64’s AES and SHA3 benchmarks.
3D Rendering
The same applies to 3D rendering benchmarks in Blender, though technically, the DDR5-6400 profile exhibits slightly better performance.
AI Inference
As for AI inference benchmarks, the DDR5-6400 profile clearly outperforms the DDR5-5200 JEDEC specification – consistently delivering faster performance across all neural models tested.
Content Creation
Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, and Premier Pro all benefitted from the faster memory. Content creation clearly shows that DDR5-6400 provides consistently higher performance across all applications.
Productivity
Microsoft Office applications also benefitted from the faster DDR5-6400 profile, but with exception of the Outlook results.
Compression
Compression speed showed improved performance too via 7-Zip’s compression benchmarking tool.
Gaming
Gaming performance on the other hand is uneventful, even with the 1% low averages considered.
Temperature
Thermal output is definitely higher when the memory is running at higher speeds. They certainly get hot, but not alarming.
Power
Higher power output at just under 4 W is very much acceptable when the memory kit is running at its optimal profile.
