AMD has introduced its new EPYC 4005 Series processors, designed to deliver enterprise-grade performance and efficiency for small to medium-sized businesses and hosted IT service providers.
Built on the proven AM5 socket, these CPUs offer a cost-effective and easy-to-deploy solution for a wide range of workloads—from virtualized environments to cloud-hosted services.
The EPYC 4005 lineup includes models with up to 16 cores and 32 threads, offering strong performance and energy efficiency. In benchmark testing, the flagship EPYC 4565P outperformed Intel’s 6th Gen Xeon 6300P by 1.83x on the Phoronix test suite.
“With the EPYC 4005 Series, we’re giving businesses the tools to deploy powerful, reliable, and affordable enterprise solutions,” said Derek Dicker, Corporate VP at AMD.
Key Features of the EPYC 4005 Series:
- Up to 16 “Zen 5” cores and 128 MB L3 cache
- Support for PCIe 5.0 and DDR5 memory
- TDP options from 65 W to 170 W
- Prices starting at $239 USD
Leading tech companies including Lenovo, Supermicro, OVHcloud, and Vultr are already integrating EPYC 4005 processors into their systems. These partners highlight the CPUs’ balance of performance, energy efficiency, and scalability for modern workloads.
