Pearl Abyss announced that Black Desert and Black Desert Mobile have won “Best MMO of the Year” and “Best Mobile MMO,” respectively, for MMORPG.com’s “2023 Player’s Choice Awards.”

Black Desert’s latest expansion “Land of the Morning Light” has also won “Best MMO Expansion” of the year, which makes the Black Desert IP’s total tally of three prestigious awards.

MMORPG.com, one of the largest MMO-centric websites in North America, annually conducts a player poll to select the best games in various categories.

Black Desert reportedly achieved such accolades thanks to its abundant updates throughout this year, such as the release of Black Desert’s first twin classes, and the medieval Korea-inspired expansion, “Land of the Morning Light,” the latter greatly renowned for its massive scale around the globe.

Competing with 7 nominees, Black Desert Mobile also took the honor of winning the “Best Mobile MMO,” with an impressive 78% of player votes, making this year their second consecutive win for the category. MMORPG.com specifically delivered positive comments on the game’s wealth of content, including Land of the Morning Light, Everfrost, and a whole bunch of new classes.

MMORPG.com had this to say regarding “Land of the Morning Light” winning “Best MMO Expansion” – “Inspired by Joseon-era Korea that feels less like an expansion and more like a love letter to the country.”
