Samsung Electronics has unveiled the expansion of its One UI 6.1.1 update, designed to enhance the AI capabilities of its Galaxy devices, reaching even more users across the globe.
Beginning in September, this new update will extend the cutting-edge AI features found in the Galaxy Z Fold6 and Z Flip6 to a broader range of devices. Users of the Galaxy S24 series, S23 series, S23 FE, Z Fold5, Z Flip5, and the Tab S9 series will now gain access to the same powerful AI-driven features aimed at improving communication, productivity, and creativity, all designed to elevate the mobile experience by offering enhanced intelligence and convenience.
Enhanced Communication Tools Without Borders
Samsung’s Galaxy AI is simplifying communication across languages, thanks to the expansion of its Interpreter tool. Listening Mode, which enables real-time translation during conversations, will now be accessible on more devices. Additionally, users can leverage one-way translation, particularly useful when listening to presentations in a foreign language.
The new Chat Assist feature empowers users to effortlessly draft emails, social media posts, and more. With the Composer tool, users simply input a few keywords, and Galaxy AI will generate complete messages tailored to their tone and style. Additionally, Suggested Replies – previously exclusive to the Galaxy Z Flip6 – will now be available on the Galaxy S24 series, enabling quick responses when paired with Galaxy Watch7 or Galaxy Watch Ultra, allowing users to reply with ease straight from their wrist.
Maximized Productivity on the Go
One UI 6.1.1 turns Galaxy devices into productivity powerhouses, thanks to its array of AI-driven tools. Note Assist eliminates the hassle of manual meeting notes by providing translation and automatic summaries. The new transcript feature enables users to create detailed notes from voice recordings quickly.
PDF Overlay Translation is another innovation, allowing users to translate text within PDF files seamlessly, as well as text within images and graphs. Galaxy AI’s Sketch to Image tool brings creativity to the forefront by generating image options from user-created sketches, enhancing photos with AI-generated visuals that complement the original.
The update also brings a powerful enhancement to the Circle to Search with Google feature, improving search capabilities. Now, users can search for solutions to complex math problems and follow step-by-step instructions. The newly introduced Sound Search feature adds another layer of versatility, letting users identify songs or sounds directly from their devices.
AI-Enhanced Creativity for Everyone
Whether you’re an aspiring photographer or a content creator, Galaxy AI is making high-quality content creation accessible to all. Portrait Studio allows users to instantly create professional portraits in various styles such as 3D cartoon or watercolor. Additionally, Instant Slow-mo makes video editing more fluid, enabling users to slow down videos while maintaining smooth image quality and easily saving or sharing the results.
Global Rollout and Availability
The One UI 6.1.1 update will begin its global rollout on September 5, starting in South Korea and expanding to North America and Europe by September 9. In the weeks that follow, additional Galaxy devices and regions will receive the update, allowing more users worldwide to experience the latest advancements in AI and mobile technology.
