AMD has officially raised the bar for desktop gaming with the introduction of the Ryzen™ 7 9850X3D. As the newest flagship in the Ryzen 9000X3D lineup, this processor is built on the high-efficiency “Zen 5” architecture and features second-generation AMD 3D V-Cache™ technology to deliver unprecedented performance gains.
Dominating the Competition
The Ryzen 7 9850X3D is designed for enthusiast gamers who demand the highest frame rates and lowest latency. According to internal benchmarks, the processor delivers an average of 27% better gaming performance compared to the Intel Core Ultra 9 285K.
In CPU-intensive titles, the leads are even more dramatic:
- Baldur’s Gate 3: Up to 60% faster
- Counter-Strike 2: Up to 48% faster
- Cyberpunk 2077: Up to 32% faster
“With incredible cache capacity and performance optimized for gaming leadership, the 9000X3D Series continues to raise the bar for enthusiast gamers.” — AMD
Performance data was captured by AMD performance labs in October 2025. The AMD test system featured a Ryzen 7 9850X3D on an X870E motherboard with 32 GB DDR5-6000 memory. The Intel comparison system utilized a Core Ultra 9 285K on a Z890 motherboard with 32 GB DDR5-7200 memory. Both systems were equipped with an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 (Driver 581.29) running Windows 11 Pro.
Testing included a massive suite of 37 titles, featuring the latest game builds as of September 25, 2025:
- High Settings: Assassin’s Creed Shadows, Battlefield 6, Black Myth: Wukong, Borderlands 3 & 4, Counter-Strike 2, Cyberpunk 2077, F1 25, Forza Horizon 5, Far Cry, Ghost of Tsushima, Grand Theft Auto V Enhanced, Hitman 3, Hogwarts Legacy, League of Legends, Monster Hunter Wilds, Red Dead Redemption 2, Mafia: The Old Country, Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered & 2, Marvel Rivals, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Sid Meier’s Civilization VII, Star Wars Outlaws, Starfield, Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege, and Watch Dogs: Legion.
